AOA Welcomes 36 New Members
---------------------------

   The Jefferson Medical College chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), the
national honor medical society, welcomed into its ranks 18 new members from
the class of '94 and 18 from the class of '95.

   AOA members participate in tutoring and other educational activities to
benefit JMC students, in addition to medical college and community service
projects.

   Elected by current AOA students, with input from faculty and their
classmates, members must be in the top 25 percent of their class
academically and undergo a rigorous selection process that includes a
review of their extracurricular and leadership activities. Also included is
a review of their curriculum vitae and personal statement. AOA's national
organization considers Jefferson's chapter one of the most active and
productive, according to chapter councillor Troy L. Thompson II, MD, the
Daniel Lieberman Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and department
chair.

   Members from the class of '94 elected last fall are: Jennifer Adams,
Patricia Aronica, David Beitle, Christina Cirucci, Joseph Ducaji, Joshua
Green, Karen Hotchkin, Leo Kenzakowski, Barry Kottler, Marc Lamb, Carole
Levy, Paula Lundgren, Paven Reddy, Colleen Rogers, Suken Shah, Hiroomi
Tada, Lisa Tai and Jennifer Temo.

   The class of '95's new members are: Vincent Arlauskas, Karl Bernat,
William Bond, William Charlton, Joseph Czarnecki, Audrey DeSilva, James
Harrop, Andrea Kelly, Douglas Kerr, Christopher Martin, Brett Murray,
Melissa Myers, Paul Protomastro, Jay Rudd, Mary Schuler, Carol Smith, Craig
Smith and Marielaina Sundo.


Annual AOA Banquet Set for June 1
---------------------------------

   The annual banquet of the Jefferson chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA)
National Honor Medical Society will take place Wednesday, June 1.  For more
