======================== JeffNEWS, May 17, 1994 ======================== Emergency Department Hosts Edison High School Students, Runs First Aid Game at JFK Plaza ------------------------------------------------------- Congress has designated the week of May 15 through 21 as Emergency Medical Services Week, an event coordinated by the American College of Emergency Physicians and several national emergency medical services organizations. Jefferson's emergency department is doing its part to carry out the mission of the observance - to heighten the public's awareness about safety. On Tuesday, May 17, the department is hosting 20 Edison High School students who will tour the emergency department/trauma center and the neurosensory intensive care unit, have a class in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and play a Wheel of Fortune-type game with questions designed to teach the players about first aid. Afterwards, representatives from the College of Allied Health Sciences and Jefferson Medical College with discuss healthcare careers with the visitors. On Wednesday, May 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., our emergency department staff will take their healthcare game show on the road - actually to JFK Plaza at 15th Street and Kennedy Boulevard. So Jeffersonians can test their first aid know-how, too, the department is sharing with JeffNEWS readers the same questions directed at the Edison students and the lunchtime crowd at JFK Plaza. Return your answers to the questions below along with your name, department name and extension to CONTEST, 239 Thompson, by Wednesday, June 1.
