CSO PLANS UNDER WAY TO DEAL WITH SEPTA STRIKE LOOMING MARCH 15 -------------------------------------------------------------- Anticipating the possibility of a citywide SEPTA strike beginning March 15, Jefferson's Commuter Services Office (CSO) is coordinating University efforts to help Jefferson and Ford Road Campus employees and students cope with the threatened transit shutdown. In the event of a strike, a special van and bus service will be set up to transport employees from key commuter sites to Jefferson, says Thomas J. D'Alessandro, CSO manager. The strike will affect only the city transport system - buses and subways - not the regional commuter rail lines. If a strike occurs, CSO will send a letter to all employees giving information about transport locations, schedules and other details. The program helps women with cancer improve their appearance and self image by teaching them hands-on beauty techniques that help them cope with the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. The program is directed particularly at hair loss and skin changes related to treatment. Class size is limited to 10 participants to ensure that each woman receives sufficient personal attention. Parking is free as are the light refreshments provided. If you know women with cancer who would be interested in the program, please have them call volunteer services at 955-6222.
