=========================== JeffNEWS, February 21, 1995 =========================== Grant Enables Geriatric Psychiatrists to Study Factors That May Prove Successful in Treating Elderly for Depression ----------------------------------------------------------- Barry W. Rovner, MD, associate professor of psychiatry and human behavior and director of the division of geriatric psychiatry, has received a one-year, $82,000 grant from Ralston House for a study, "Geriatric Depression Outcome." Dr. Rovner and co-investigator Edward Kim, MD, assistant professor in the department, will study the medical, social and psychological factors that produce the best results for older persons being treated for depression. Ralston House is an independent non profit corporation that has provided services to older adults since 1817.
