What's new this semester are additional management systems courses, five programs from the International Exchange Services Office, brown-bag lunch seminars and a new individual development course in personal safety, offered in conjunction with the security department. Management Systems Classes: o Applying Statistics to Daily Work (updated) o Continuous Quality Improvement Concepts and Tools (updated) o Understanding and Using the Statistical Process Control Chart International Exchange Services courses: o Cross-Cultural Communication: A Simulation o Taxes Affecting Non-Immigrant Employees, Students and Volunteers: What Jefferson Administrators Need to Know o International Issues: Students in F-1 Status o Taxes and Other Issues Affecting the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program o What You Need to Know to Hire the Person Who Will Need an H-1 Temporary Worker Visa Brown Bag Lunch Seminars - one-hour seminars on a wide variety of topics will be offered monthly on subjects such as: o Financial planning o Time management o Career development o Sexual harassment o Handling conflicts You'll receive details about the monthly seminars through interoffice mail. Individual Development o Your Personal Safety On the Streets For the first time, all management and professional development courses have been designed to make the participants eligible for continuing education units from most professional organizations.
