Kimmel Cancer Institute’s Laurence Eisenlohr, VMD, PhD, Serving On Scientific Review Center of National Institutes of Health (NIH) Laurence C. Eisenlohr, VMD, PhD, Associate Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, Jefferson Medical College, and a research scientist with the Kimmel Cancer Institute, is serving as a member of the Experimental Virology Study Section, Center for Scientific Review of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His term will run through June 2003. According to NIH guidelines, Dr. Eisenlohr was selected on the basis of his demonstrated competence and achievement in his scientific discipline as evidenced by the quality of his research accomplishments, publications in scientific journals and other significant scientific activities, achievements and honors. Dr. Eisenlohr will help review grant applications to the NIH, make recommendations on these applications to the appropriate NIH national advisory council or board, and survey the status of research in his field of cancer research in microbiology and immunology. “These functions are of great value to medical and allied research in this country,” said Ellie Ehrenfeld, PhD, Director of NIH’s Center for Scientific Review, adding that membership on a study section “represents a unique opportunity to contribute to the national biomedical research effort.” |
