It’s a girl. She’s 5 lbs. 14 oz., 19 3/4 inches long, and her name is Jasmine Badeau. Jasmine made her debut on December 12 as the first child born at Jefferson’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s new midwifery service directed by Richard Jennings, CNM, at right, who is shown with Jasmine’s proud parents Florinda Badeau and Rachad Collins. When Florinda Badeau went into labor, she did not have transportation to the hospital. One call, and Richard Jennings was there to transport mother, and to deliver Jasmine here at Jefferson University Hospital. Diane Zimmerman, CNM, shares the practice with Mr. Jennings. For information, call 215-247-4280.
