to 400 people could have danced all night at the Jefferson Ball held
at the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue in Philadelphia. The annual event
sponsored by the Women's Board of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital

In addition to dancing, attendees enjoyed great food, the camaraderie
of friends and a silent auction. The Women's Board has raised money
for the Pastoral Care Program, Jefferson Obstetrics and Neonatal Center,
Women's Health Source, Social Work Emergency Fund, and Center for

At
the age of 31, Catherine Datz was diagnosed with scleroderma by Sergio
A. Jimenez, MD, The Dorrance H. Hamilton Professor of Medicine and
the Director of the Division of Rheumatology at Jefferson Medical
College. To help Dr. Jimenez advance research on this chronic and
often fatal disease with no known cause or cure, Mrs. Datz and her
family will host the fourth annual "Putt for Progress" golf
tournament and sports memorabilia auction on July 17. The third annual
event, held in 1999, raised approximately $43,500 to benefit Jefferson's
Scleroderma Center. If you wish to contribute to the Center, please
call 5-2435. The continuous support of Mrs. Datz and her family and
friends was recognized at the recent unveiling of a plaque in their
honor at Jefferson. From left, are Paul C. Brucker, MD, President
