Robert Brent, MD, PhD, Honored by Health Physics Society
Robert Brent, MD, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics; Radiology; and
Pathology, Anatomy and Cell Biology at Thomas Jefferson University, is the
recipient of the Robley D. Evans Commemorative Medal for 2000. Dr. Brent is
also Head of Clinical and Environmental Teratology at the Alfred I. duPont
Hospital for Children. The award is presented by the Health Physics Society in
memory and honor of Professor Evans, a past president of the society who was
dedicated to radiation safety as an educator, scientist, author and humanitarian.
The award recognizes Dr. Brent's outstanding scientific achievement and career
in counseling institutions, colleagues and patients about radiation risks. The
medal was presented to Dr. Brent on June 27, 2000, at the annual meeting of
the Health Physics Society.
