With the new Three-Mile Walk expected to be a popular event, more Jeffersonians than ever before are needed to volunteer at this year's Distance Run and Walk. Family members and friends are welcome. Thomas J. Lewis, President and Chief Executive Officer for the hospital, reinforces how the annual event has turned into a fun time for employees and their families and friends: "In 1998 and 1999, about 100 Jeffersonians volunteered and had a great time. Many brought their families and children, and you are encouraged to do the same. This is an exciting event for all ages. Even if you can give only an hour or two, it will help a lot." Volunteers are needed mainly to help distribute water and assist at the finish line. Sign up now for what's become an annual fun day for volunteers, runners and their families at Volunteer Services, 5-6222. |
