Ford Road Update
Good news from Ford Road Campus: the number of surgical cases
continues to steadily increase. In fact, during the first half of fiscal
year 1996, 1,170 surgical cases were performed at Ford Road, representing
a 14 percent increase over budget. Clearly, department administrators support
Ford Road's mission of providing ambulatory care as evidenced by increased
interest in scheduling surgery at Ford Road and establishing office space
at the Park Plaza Medical Offices.
The consistent volume that hand surgery, plastic surgery, pain service,
general surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology-head and
neck surgery, urology, dermatology, and ophthalmology provide has had a
positive effect on the campus as well as on the patient population Ford
Road serves.
Complementing the increase in surgical activity, the Outpatient Dialysis
Program continues to deliver high quality care and maintain a strong census.
Jefferson Transitional Rehab
Linda M. Sloane, NHA, administrator, reports that Jefferson Transitional
Rehab's census is continually climbing. The successful unit has reached
at or near capacity of 30 patients.
"Through it's programmatic approach to care, Jefferson Transitional
Rehab delivers Jefferson quality care and produces excellent outcomes in
a cost-effective manner," says Ms. Sloane.
"As a result, we are experiencing a steady increase in the number of
managed care contracts and a corresponding rise in referral sources,"
Ms. Sloane confirms.
One of Jefferson Transitional Rehab's most important goals is to get the
word out that the unit provides other services along with the physical therapy
and occupational therapy that their name brings to mind. Jefferson Transitional
Rehab provides curative care, complex wound care, infusions, pain management
and treats pulmonary problems.
Children's Rehabilitation Hospital - Outpatient Rehab
