Jefferson Health System Enters Five-Year Agreement With Sunrise Assisted Living

On October 9th, Jefferson Health System entered into a five-year affiliation with Sunrise Assisted Living, Inc., a long term care provider. In this agreement, Jefferson will provide skilled home health, rehabilitation, behavioral health and primary care services in Sunrise's facilities. In return JHS's senior patients will have increased access to Sunrise's community based, assisted living services. Together, the two organizations will also develop and offer a variety of wellness programs on topics such as nutrition, arthritis, living wills, advance directives, health insurance and health screenings.

Sunrise currently operates 32 communities in 11 states. They have two facilities in New Jersey, and are opening three new facilities in Pennsylvania - Blue Bell, Abington and Granite Run. In addition, four more communities are planned for the Philadelphia region.

David C. Carney Named Jefferson Health System Executive Vice President

David C. Carney has joined Jefferson Health System staff as Executive Vice President. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the financial services, general legal services, marketing, public relations, communications, and planning functions of the Health System. Mr. Carney came to Jefferson from CoreStates Financial Corporation where he served as the Chief Financial Officer for four years.
