New Pediatrics Practice Formed
The kids are in luck! Jefferson Faculty Pediatrics is at your service. The new private practice, made up of eight experienced Jefferson pediatricians, offers a full range of health care to children, from newborns through age 18. Prenatal appointments are welcomed as well.
"Because we all teach medical residents of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's pediatrics department, we have an academic bent and stay current in the field," comments Judith A. Turow, MD, clinical assistant professor of pediatrics and member of the group practice. "If needed, we're in close reach of the hospital and can use the consulting specialty resources at the duPont Hospital for Children as well."
The other members of the group, all board-certified physicians, are: Clara A. Callahan, MD; Allan R. De Jong, MD; Gary A. Emmett, MD; Kelly R. Leite, DO; William McNett, MD; Charles A. Pohl, MD; and Ira H. Strassman, MD.
"We all have a similar style and work well together. We emphasize the doctor-patient relationship," Dr. Turow continues about the staff. "We like to talk to patients and welcome phone calls. Some of our special interests are early child development, school and learning difficulties, and sleep problems."
Jefferson Faculty Pediatrics is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, physicians see children for "illness visits" between noon and 2 p.m. The physicians are on call 24 hours a day as well.
The Philadelphia office is located at 909 Walnut Street, Suite 270. Discount parking is available. You can make an appointment by calling 5-7800. Most insurance plans are accepted. This winter, the pediactric practice will be opening a second office in Turnersville, NJ.
