Jefferson, SmithKline Beecham (SKB) Join to Link Clinical Research Efforts
In what Jefferson's executive leadership calls a "landmark" step, the University and SmithKline Beecham (SKB) have entered into a contractual relationship aimed to enhance the future of clinically based research.

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Opens Comprehensive Epilepsy Center
Further expanding Jefferson's abilities to treat patients with epilepsy, the staff of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and Neuropsychology Division of Graduate Hospital has moved to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Measey Foundation Endows Professorship of Surgery
The Benjamin and Mary Siddons Measey Foundation has pledged $1 million to Jefferson Medical College in order to establish the William Maul Measey Professorship of Surgery. The endowment will enable Jefferson to continue to recruit prominent faculty to the department of surgery, further strengthening its commitment to the highest quality education of its students.

Information Systems Update


Sandra Moss, RN, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology, attends to the first set of twins born at Jefferson to benefit from a new incubator designed with monitors and space for two infants. According to Jay S. Greenspan, MD, Director, Division of Neonatology at Jefferson, and Professor of Pediatrics, JMC, twins born prematurely appear to be more stable when they have physical contact with each other.
