Jefferson Cardiologists Find Stents Better Than Angioplasty for Obstructed Coronary Bypass Grafts
Jefferson cardiologists have found that using stents instead of angioplasty in patients with recurrent blockage following coronary-artery bypass surgery lowers the risk of death, heart attack and the need for repeat bypass surgery or angioplasty.

$1.5 million Sidney Rosenbluth Fund Supports Department of Medicine
Before his death last February, Sidney "Rosey" Rosenbluth, Jefferson Medical College, class of 1932, named Thomas Jefferson University as the chief beneficiary of his will. The bequest ­ $1.5 million for unrestricted use by the Department of Medicine ­ has been named the Sidney Rosenbluth Fund.

Jefferson's United Way Campaign Kicks Off October 1
Jefferson's United Way campaign kicks off Wednesday, October 1, at the campaigners' breakfast from 8:45 to 10 a.m. in the Jefferson Alumni Hall dining room. The program will include remarks by University President, Paul C. Brucker, MD, and by special guest speaker Sister Mary Scullion, RSM, who is Executive Director and Co-founder for Project H.O.M.E., a program to enable chronically homeless persons to break the cycle of homelessness.
