DiMarino Jr., MD, the William Rorer Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, and Stanley B. Benjamin, MD, FACP, FACG, Brick Professor of Medicine and Chief of Gastroenterology, Georgetown University Medical Center, are Co-editors of Gastrointestinal Disease: An Endoscopic Approach.

Lectures to Note
AOA/HARE DISTINGUISHED LECTURE
Edward D. Harris Jr., MD, Executive Secretary of Alpha Omega Alpha, will deliver the 1998 Annual AOA/Hare Distinguished Lecture, "Challenges for Medical Education in the New Millenium," on Thursday, April 30, at 101 Bluemle Life Sciences Building.
Dr. Harris is President of the Medical Staff of the Stanford University Hospital, Director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Diseases and Medical Director of Stanford University's International Medicine Program. The lecture is sponsored by Alpha Omega Alpha and The Hobart Amory Hare Society of Jefferson Medical College.
Bressel A. van der Kolk, MD, will present the prestigious Albert M. Biele, MD, Memorial Lecture in Psychiatry at Jefferson on Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. at DePalma Auditorium. Dr. van der Kolk's lecture topic will be "Social and Neurobiological Dimensions of Compulsions to Forget and Repeat Psychological Trauma."
Dr. van der Kolk is Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine, Professor of Education at Harvard University, and the Saul Z. Cohen Chair of Child Mental Health for the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services, New York City.
The annual lectureship was created in 1979 to honor Dr. Biele, who was an outstanding Jefferson physician, scholar and psychiatry professor.

Woodrow A. Myers Jr., MD, MBA, Director of Healthcare Management for Ford Motor Company, will deliver the seventh annual Raymond C. Grandon Lectureship on May 14 from 8 to 10 a.m. in the DePalma Auditorium. Dr. Myers will speak on "Academic Medical Centers and Purchasers of Care: The Future." The Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology and Dermik Laboratories will sponsor the 15th Annual Herbert A. Luscombe Lectureship on Wednesday, April 22, 1998. This year's guest speaker is Luis Diaz, MD, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The event will take place in the Connelly Conference Room in the Bluemle Life Sciences Building at 4 p.m. Dr. Diaz's lecture is entitled, "Bullous Pemphigoid and Hemidesmosomes: From Walter Lever to the Present."
