How You Can Register to Run Or Volunteer

All Jeffersonians are welcome and encouraged to participate in the 1998 Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia Distance Run, a world-class marathon event. You and members of your family can enter the race itself or serve as a volunteer in any number of capacities for the weekend of events on September 26 and 27.

To Register to Run

For the first 35 Jefferson employees or students registering as individual runners, the entry fee will be waived. After the first 35 Jefferson entries, early registration fees before August 22 are discounted: $25 for the Half Marathon, $15 for the 5K Classic and $32 for both races.

Employees, medical staff and students can also register as teams. Many runners opt to form a "team with a theme." For fees and guidelines on forming teams, call 610-293-0786 or refer to the registration form. Teams registering before September 4 will receive a fee discount.

To Volunteer

More than 2,000 volunteers will be needed for the weekend events, most of them Sunday morning to help distribute shirts, information, water, and generally lend a hand in organizing and directing things. Every volunteer will receive a special "Distance Run Volunteer" shirt.
