* Periodic Progress Report-Comments
Requested
- Accreditation Requirements -- In order for Thomas
Jefferson University (TJU) to maintain its accreditation
status in good standing, it must submit to the Middle
States Association of the Commission on Higher Education
(MSA), a five-year progress report. This is a requirement
of all schools midway through the full 10-year approval
period. In June 1993, following the University's Self
Study Report, the MSA reaffirmed TJU's accreditation and
thus a Periodic Progress Report is due June 1, 1998.
- Periodic Progress Report -- A draft Report has been
prepared by a six-person Task Force comprising
representatives from the University and its constituent
Colleges. The Task Force utilized existing University
structures to gather material for the report.
- Coverage of Report -- Broadly the report sets out to:
- Highlight the accomplishments, developments and
issues since the MSA site visit/self-study report
of January 1993.
- Identify plans for evaluation, development or
improvement over the next 5 years.
- Request for Comments -- In order to make the draft report
widely available, it will be placed on a "domain
protected" web-site, as well as on hard copy within
the Scott Library. The web site address, which will be
open from February 16 to March 6 will be http://jeffline.tju.edu/Education/msa/msa.html
Details of how to return comments will be shown on the
web pages. For those of you who wish to review a hard
copy, please ask at the Reserve Desk on the second floor
of the Scott Library, after February 16.
- Final Report -- The final report will be submitted by the
President, to the Middle States Association by June 1,
1998.
