Integration Update: JHS Staff Appointments Announced

Two new appointments to Jefferson Health System (JHS) staff have been announced by David C. Carney, Executive Vice President, JHS.

William J. Marcelis Named Director of Corporate Real Estate for Jefferson Health System ­ This is a new position for JHS that will provide in-house expertise for managing both current and future real estate issues.

"Mr. Marcelis comes to JHS with an extensive background in corporate real estate planning," Mr. Carney said. "His knowledge and experience will be fully utilized in this new position as we pursue our real estate objectives for the future."

Prior to his JHS appointment, Mr. Marcelis served for four years as Director of Corporate Real Estate for Towers, Perrin, Forster and Crosby. He held similar positions at Dun and Bradstreet and CIGNA Corporation.

Mr. Marcelis graduated cum laude from St. Joseph's University, and received a Master of Business Administration degree in Real Estate Finance from Temple University. He is a member of Corporate Real Estate Executives and the International Development Research Council.

Dorothy O. McGilvery Named Compliance Officer for Jefferson Health System ­ Ms. McGilvery has worked with Independence Blue Cross since 1993, most recently as Director of Integrated Delivery Systems, development and Operations, for Keystone Health Plan East.

"Ms. McGilvery brings to this position the knowledge and experience gained from her estensive work in managed care," Mr. Carney said. "She will be responsible for all JHS compliance matters, as well as internal audit activities."

Prior to Independence Blue Cross, Ms. McGilvery worked with Cigna Healthplan of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, where she was progressively responsible for directing provider relations, plannng and analysis, and finance. Prior to Cigna she was Controller for Delaware Valley HMO. She began her career at Arthur Young and Company, predecessor to Ernst and Young, where she rose to the position of audit manager.

Ms. McGilvery graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Joseph's University. She is a certified public accountant.
