The Thomas Jefferson University
Bookstore recently sponsored a Story Hour session for the children at the Jefferson Child
Care Center. Reading to the children a story called “The Skeleton Inside You” is
Doris Abrams, Bookstore Associate Manager. After the story, the children had an
opportunity to examine skeleton models on display for the Story Hour and received a
Jefferson balloon.
McGruff the Crime Dog made an appearance at the Center City Smart
and Safe Fair at Jefferson. The Fair, hosted by Jefferson and the Center City District,
provided employees with entertainment and safety information as well as balloons, soft
pretzels and a chance to win a stuffed McGruff the Crime Dog. Along with McGruff,
representatives from the Philadelphia Police Department’s Center City Bike and Foot
Patrols, the 6th District’s Crime Prevention and Community Relations Officers, and
the Philadelphia Fire Department and Center City In-Line Skaters Townwatch were on hand.
Michael King, PhD, Associate Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology,
Jefferson Medcial College, was the winner of the stuffed McGruff.
