Delaware Valley Medical Center and Frankford Hospital Join Forces
The Board of Directors of Delaware Valley Medical Center (DVMC) announced plans to enter into an agreement with Frankford Hospital that will enhance the facility’s role as an area healthcare provider and major employer. Under the agreement, Frankford will acquire Delaware Valley’s facilities and equipment and turn the hospital into the third Frankford Hospital inpatient location – preserving the organization’s traditional nonprofit mission.

According to Nancy Cherone, CHE, DVMC’S Interim Chief Executive Officer, Frankford can offer the financial and structural support and experience necessary to reshape DVMC.

“We look forward to providing the employees, volunteers and physicians at our new campus with the technology, educational programs and administrative support they need to deliver exceptional patient care,” says Roy Powell, President of Frankford Hospital. “Many Frankford specialists and primary care physicians are excited to join forces with Delaware Valley. By offering their services and expertise at this third location, they will provide Bucks County patients with convenient access to Frankford’s services.”

Under the agreement, Frankford plans to purchase Delaware Valley’s assets and invest nearly an additional $20 million to build the medical center into the provider of choice for area residents and physicians, Ms. Cherone says. Frankford Hospital is part of Frankford Health Care System, which is a founding member of the Jefferson Health System.
