| Michael Vergare, MD, Appointed
Chair Of Psychiatry and Human Behavior
Dr. Vergare will continue as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry, Albert Einstein Medical Center, part of the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network (AEHN), a founding member of JHS. Dr. Vergare has served as Chairman of Einstein’s Psychiatry Department since 1995.
He is also Vice President of the Mental Health Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania
and Past President of the Philadelphia Psychiatric Society and the Pennsylvania
Psychiatric Society. Dr. Vergare’s areas of interest include geriatric psychiatry, panic disorders, and the interface of physical and psychiatric disorders. Dr. Vergare received a bachelor of arts degree in 1967 from LaSalle College, Philadelphia, and a doctor of medicine degree in 1971 from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia.
