Caroline Golab, PhD, has been appointed Chairman and Associate Professor of the Department of General Studies and Director of the Center for Faculty Development, College of Health Professions. Prior to joining Jefferson, she held the position of Vice President for Planning and Development at Chestnut Hill College. Dr. Golab received both her master of arts and doctor of philosophy degrees in history from the University of Pennsylvania.

Anne L. Rosenberg, MD, FACS, Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Surgery, Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, received the 1999 Women of Achievement award presented at Woman’s World Weekend, an event held to benefit breast cancer research and to educate women on health and fitness.

Rev. Edward C. Bradley, SJ, MD, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, is the 1999 recipient of the Rev. Clarence E. Shaffrey, SJ, Award presented by the Medical Alumni Chapter at Saint Joseph’s University.

Leonard G. Gomella, MD, FACS, Director of Urologic Oncology for the Kimmel Cancer Center, and The Bernard W. Godwin Jr. Associate Professor of Prostate Cancer, Department of Urology, Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, received the National Men’s Health and Fitness Conference Award for Excellence presented at the Professional Conference Luncheon at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Dr. Gomella was chosen for his work in the area of prostate cancer.

Jouni J. Uitto, MD, PhD, Chairman and Professor of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, was elected President of the Dermatology Foundation at the Annual Meeting of Trustees.
