Support Jefferson, Other Community Resources With Donations To United Way Jeffersons 1998 United Way Campaign achieved great success, ranking second in contributions among all academic/healthcare institutions that supported United Way campaigns in Philadelphia, according to 1998 cabinet chair Kevin J. Donahue, Jeffersons Director of Accounting and Systems for Physical Resources. 3,112 employees of Thomas Jefferson University and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital contributed a total of $251,127 to United Way in 1998, enabling Jefferson to surpass its goal of $225,000. This included 90 employees who contributed $9,155 to the Hospital, and seven employees who contributed $773 to Neonatology Research at Jefferson Medical College. This will benefit patient care and we are very grateful for the thoughtfulness of University and Hospital employees, said Thomas Jefferson University Hospital President and CEO Thomas J. Lewis. United Ways member agencies and other qualified health and human service organizations serve more than a million people in our area who are in need, said University President Paul C. Brucker, MD. By giving to United Way, we are making an important difference in the lives of our neighbors. |
