The Employee Assistance Programs of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Main Line Health System have joined to form an integrated Employee Assistance Program with enhanced services.

Reflecting the significance of the change, the integrated program has adopted a new name: “FirstCALL – Your Employee Assistance Program.” The former programs were Jefferson Advantage and Main Line Health’s ACCESS.

FirstCALL offers free, confidential consultation and counseling to employees and their family members. People who use the EAP learn how to deal with family concerns, stress, job pressures. FirstCALL also offers a referral service for legal matters, family mediation and financial troubles.

One enhancement that FirstCALL offers is live after-hours coverage 24 hours, 7 days per week. A Master’s-level clinician will be available for urgent issues.

Reflecting its wider accessibility to employees, FirstCALL is staffed from three locations: 1015 Chestnut St., across from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and at confidential offices convenient to Bryn Mawr Hospital and Paoli Memorial Hospital. In addition, licensed psychologists and social workers act as subcontractors to the program to serve Jefferson Health System member institution employees and dependents throughout the tri-state area.

Like its predecessors, FirstCALL offers Employee Assistance Program services to other area employers. “Our new name and integrated program enable us to increase efficiency and strengthen our position in the marketplace for clients both within and outside the Jefferson Health System,” says Paula deLong, Manager, Employee Assistance Program. She and Counselor Paul Goddard will remain available at 1015 Chestnut Street to assist Jefferson Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson University Physicians’ (JUP) employees and their dependents.
