JMC Alumni Association Mentor Program
The Mentor Program involves a “buddy system” and unpaid internships.
With the buddy system, alumni act as advisers to students during their first two years, answering questions and adding perspective. The responsibilities generally involve talking over the phone or perhaps a meal.
With unpaid internships, first-year students spend their summer with alumni, watching them interact with patients in the clinic and hospital. We offer a similar opportunity for second-, third- and fourth-year students, pairing them with alumni to learn about specialties and postgraduate training programs.
