Prostatectomy & Radiation Therapy
The Center is collaborating with Timothy Showalter, MD, from the Department of Radiation Oncology. Analyses use the Emilia-Romagna longitudinal database to identify men who have had a radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer. Since linked data are available beginning in 2002, we are able to track utilization of radiation therapy and identify complications of treatment. The goal of the project is to provide information that can help to inform radiotherapy decisions after pros-tatectomy for high risk prostate cancer to im-prove the understanding of real-world compli-cations and reduce overall treatment burden.
