Program Evaluation: Clinical Clerkships

Center staff members collect systematic data to monitor 15 clinical
clerkships at the University and 21 other affiliated hospitals. Established
in 1982, the clerkship database now includes over 25,000 self reports of the educational experiences of students , their performance
on written examinations before and after the clerkship, faculty ratings
of their clinical performance and estimates of the impact of each clerkship
on students' career plans. Periodic reports are developed to supplement
the interactive computer graphic system that has been used in small-group
sessions to enable the faculty to assess the quality of the educational
program across sites. |
