Residents are evaluated at the end of each rotation by the faculty member or members most familiar with that resident's performance. A summative evaluation session is held every 6 months with the Program Director, at which time all evaluations are reviewed. At these sessions, concerns are discussed and suggestions made for future development. In addition, residents are evalutated by medical students every block and by patients and nursing staff twice a year. Residents also complete a self-assessment twice a year.
It is expected that each resident will sit for the CREOG in-service exam each January. Residents are expected to perform at a favorable level when compared with national standards.
