Curriculum

At Jefferson, a defined two-year curriculum is in place to ensure that all topics are covered on a regular basis. During the course of residency training, residents are exposed to topics multiple times and at different levels, thus deepening their  understanding and appreciation of the material.

The Association of Program Directors in Surgery (APDS) sponsored textbook, The Physiologic Basis of Surgery, edited by J. Patrick O’Leary, is the recommended basic science text.

John L. Cameron's Current Surgical Therapy is the recommended clinical text. A copy of the text is supplied to each resident and is also available online as are a host of other clinical resources throught the University library.
