Research and Clinical Interests
Platelets play a critical role in hemostasis and thrombosis. Dr. Jin's research is focused on hormone effects on platelets function. Currently, she is working on a progesterone binding protein, MAPR which has been identified in human platelets at both protein and mRNA level. MAPR is expressed at high level in human platelets with no known function. Our preliminary data shows that MAPR can alter platelet reactivity. Future studies will emphasize on a better understanding of the mechanism of MAPR effects platelet function.
