Career
Planning
Timely counseling for students seeking curricular choices as well as suggestions for residency positions remains a key commitment for all of us. The Office for Student Affairs and Career Counseling is available to provide guidance and advice to each student regarding his/her career selections. The Career Planning Center Web site lists resources for medical students to aid in their decision processes.
The site is divided into three sections designed to correspond to the stages of decision-making and implementation used by many students when choosing a career.
Phase 1: Self-Assessment
The first step in career planning is a formal assessment of certain categories of personal information such as your values, interests, skills, environmental factors, personality, and financial situation.
Phase 2: Career Exploration
In this phase, gather information about the specialties that may be of interest to you.
Phase 3: The Residency Application Process
