Research and Clinical Interests
Assistant Professor of Pathology, Anatomy, & Cell Biology, Director of the Gross Anatomy Dissection facilities at Jefferson Medical School. He has been involved with medical student education programs for 5 years ad has worked to improve the student curriculum on sectional anatomy by diagnostic imaging. His area of expertise is in the development and creation of innovative computer based teaching tools to enhance learning in innovative ways using technology to create natural critical learning environments. Working with programmers, animators and video artists at the Jefferson Medical College, he has developed self-contained, web-based sectional anatomy Interactive Multimedia Modules. He will explore the application different approaches and technologies to advancing University learning at all levels of medical education and across the disciplines. Dr. Lopez is developing a Cyber Classroom, which is an asynchronous web-based series of modules, geared to help students review basic sciences during all years of medical school. Other main interests is curriculum reform in undergraduate and graduate medical education.
