Current Residents
Thank you for your interest in our radiation oncology residency at Jefferson. You can be sure that cooperation and teamwork set the atmosphere of our program, which we modify over the years according to suggestions of its enrollees. As a hospital-based service with a major academic role within the medical college, our department considers resident training its most important academic function.
Radiation oncology residency at Jefferson is a four-year training program (PGY 2-5). Residents must have completed one year of post-graduate training in medicine, surgery, or a transitional program.
Jefferson’s residency in radiation oncology trains residents broadly in cancer management and emphasizes interdisciplinary care. Faculty members provide instruction in all modes of radiation oncology: megavoltage photon- and electron-beam therapy, interstitial and intracavitary radioactive-source implantations, stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy and the diagnostic and therapeutic uses of radioactive isotopes.
Jefferson's Department of Radiation Oncology will be conducting Interviews for it's Residency Program Applicants on December 9, 2011 and January 6, 2012.
As of October 27, 2011 Jefferson's Department of Radiation Oncology is no longer accepting applications for the two positions available in 2013.
