In 1983, approximately forty of Simon Kramer’s associates and trainees founded the Simon Kramer Society.  To date, the group has more than 100 members who work in a variety of disciplines related to radiation oncology.

The Simon Kramer Society’s mission is:

  • to stimulate the study of radiation oncology by medical students, physicians, physicists, biologists and paramedical personnel.
  • to maintain an association of past and present physicians, medical physicists, radiobiologists and paramedical personnel of the Departments at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
  • to keep abreast of the scientific work done by The Society’s members and to expose medical students to Radiation Oncology.

Each year the Simon Kramer Society hosts a variety of lectures and an annual meeting.  The Society also sponsors medical student externships.
