The Department of Radiation Oncology hosts medical dosimetrists and radiation therapy students enrolled in the Jefferson College of Health Professionals- Radiologic Sciences programs. For more information about these academic programs, visit http://www.jefferson.edu/jchp/di/
Medical dosimetry students experience the entire treatment planning process from consultation to radiation delivery. Students are exposed to multiple software programs for contouring anatomical structures, fusion of multiple image sets, and dosimetric planning (including 3D conformal and intensity modulated radiation therapy). Students interact with dosimetrists, physicists, therapists, nurses, residents, and physicians to get the full experience of working in Radiation Oncology. Hands-on training is supplemented by a rigorous academic program, multiple courses taught by members of the Division of Medical Physics.
