TJUH - Neurosurgery - Graph 2Patient selection for radiosurgery treatment is of utmost importance, and one must always judge whether a radiosurgical intervention better serves a patient when compared with microneurosurgery. As with any proposed treatment of a patient with a brain tumor or AVM, a thorough understanding of intracranial lesions, the contiguous central nervous system tissue, and the response of both to a particular intervention must be mastered and the array of risks and benefits discussed with the patient.
