Affiliations

In keeping with current trends in health care, Jefferson Hospital has developed cooperative relationships with many area hospitals in a successful effort to expand its presence and influence in the Delaware Valley. The Jefferson Health System includes Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Main Line Health, Frankford-Torresdale Hospital, Albert Einstein Medical Center, and Magee Rehabilitation. We are beginning to work on developing mutual educational resources and experiences with these institutions, and are looking forward to the educational benefits which such a large system can support.

The Department maintains close educational affiliations with West Jersey Health Systems. This hospital provides an excellent community hospital experience for housestaff to compliment the university experience at Thomas Jefferson. Residents in the first three years rotate to this affiliate. Third year residents have the primary responsibility for the overall supervision of the Gynecology Service during their rotation at West Jersey, whereas the first and second year residents have primary responsibilities in Obstetrics.
