Study Abroad for Jefferson Students

THE FOERDERER GRANT
This grant is open to Jefferson students ONLY

The Foerderer Grant for International Study will be made available only to Jefferson students in good academic standing in the College of Graduate Studies, College of Health Professions and Jefferson Medical College who wish to enhance their education experience by studying outside the United States for a period of up to 8 weeks.  Travel must occur between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010.

Students can apply up to one year in advance for funding that covers up to 70% of estimated costs.  Funding priorities are in this order:  roundtrip airfare, program fees (if any) room & board, supplies.  Personal travel expenses will not be funded.  In 2008-2009, 41 out of 58 applicants received some grant funds which ranged from $400 to $1400 per person.

The Office of International Exchange Services has binders of reports from student trips in the past.  You may come to our office to look through these binders for ideas to create your own program.  If you would like any information about the Rwanda/Uganda program, contact Dr. James Plumb.  For information about the Costa Rica program, contact Dr. Bernard Lopez.
