Current & Former Fellows

In the last 40 years, Jefferson has successfully trained and developed dynamic leaders who are equipped to meet the challenges of an ever-changing healthcare industry.  As a vital part of the Jefferson Enterprise, the fellow works alongside senior leaders to build a portfolio of both operational and project-based work, while sharpening their strategic and critical thinking skills.

In return, Jefferson draws from each fellow's unique talents and creative ideas to help implement new approaches for the delivery of high-quality clinical care and service to the patient. During their one year tenure, fellows are able to make significant contributions to the institution.

Kwasi Nyantakyi, MHA

Kwasi Nyantakyi, MHA

2017-18 Administrative Fellow

A product of New York City, Kwasi Nyantakyi recently completed his Master of Health Administration at Columbia University. As an undergraduate, he developed an interest for public health, leadership, and mentorship. As a senior, he received one of New York States 2015 Independent Sector Student Community Service Awards for his mentorship efforts in Rochester and community outreach at Morris Heights Health Centers throughout the Bronx. Most recently, he interned at Montefiore Medical Center assisting the performance improvement team in identifying opportunities to improve patient experience. Kwasi aims to use his unique experiences to work in urban healthcare settings impacting health disparities, promoting quality care, and service excellence. In his leisure time random walks in the city and inspiring those around him.

Administrative Fellow 2016-2017

Current Position: Project Manager, Strategic Business Development & Partnerships

Responsibilities: Responsible for identifying and expanding industry partnerships with large employers, care delivery systems and other key strategic JVs in alliance with the institution’s senior leadership. Includes identification and evaluation of growing key commercial ventures, due diligence phases, oversight of implementation and integration of clinical operating and corporate units.

About Amy: Professionally, Amy has an interest in strategic partnerships, integration and service line program development. Originally, from Cincinnati, Ohio, Amy is accustomed to cheering on declining sports teams, and enjoys travel, photography and a solid game of ping pong.

Kristi Caldararo, MHA

Kristi Caldararo, MHA

Administrative Fellow 2015-2016

Current Position: Associate Administrator, Clinical Services

Responsibilities: As part of the transplant program at Jefferson, Kristi is part of multiple projects including the opening of the new Nicoletti Live Kidney Donor Transplant Center and the reactivation and expansion of the heart transplant program. Kristi also supports several other system level projects and initiatives including a transformational leadership rounding initiative, business acquisitions, service line operations, and more.

Current Position: Manager of Network & Payment Strategy

Responsibilities: Jenny is responsible for managing initiatives for Jefferson’s Clinically Integrated Network, and for evaluating innovative payment models and their potential impacts on Jefferson.

Dennis R. Delisle, ScD, FACHE

Administrative Fellow 2009-2010

Current Position: Executive Project Director, Epic@Jeff and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University's College of Population Health

Responsibilities: Responsible for the successful implementation of an electronic medical record initiative across the inpatient and ambulatory settings using Epic software, processes and tools. Oversees and coordinates the efforts of seven directors who, in turn, manage the activities of the various teams: Access and Revenue Cycle, Ambulatory, Inpatient, Ancillary, Informatics & Research, Training and Technology.

About Dennis: Dennis is the author of Executing Lean Improvements: A Practical Guide with Real-World Healthcare Case Studies. The book uses case studies from Jefferson’s Lean journey and serves as the foundation for his Thomas Jefferson University courses. His various publications and courses taught emphasize operational excellence, project management and change leadership. Outside of work, Dennis is an avid golfer, traveler and poor-man’s artist. With strong family ties to Massachusetts, Dennis is a dedicated Boston sports fan.

Dane Caffrey, MBA

Dane Caffrey, MBA

Administrative Fellow 1991-1992

Current Position: Administrator, Perioperative Services Business Operations and University Health Services at Jefferson University Hospitals

Responsibilities: Overseeing the business functions of the Perioperative Services Division at Jefferson University Hospital, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience and Jefferson Surgical Center. Overseeing the operations of the University Health Services Department. Serving as the Administrator for the Clinical Privileges Committee and as one of Jefferson's five Six Sigma Black Belts.

About Dane: Dane came to Jefferson after spending eight years in the U.S. Navy and then earning his MBA degree. He has been at Jefferson since 1991 and has held a number of varied positions over the years in hospital operations and physician practice management. Dane lives in Wallingford, PA, with his wife and two sons. He also recently retired, as a Commander, from the U.S. Navy Reserve.
