Electives

The equivalent of two days weekly in PGY-4 is set aside for electives. Electives can be done at Jefferson or other institutions, and may involve clinical, research, or scholarly work. Because of the requirement for half-time work in our outpatient clinic, most residents do electives in the greater Philadelphia area, but residents have arranged electives as far away as New York. Salary and malpractice insurance for residents on away electives are covered by Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Below is a list, not meant to be inclusive, of commonly chosen electives.
