RESEARCH INTERESTS/ONGOING PROJECTS
I recently completed a 2 year research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in the Thoracic Surgery division of the department of General Surgery under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Friedberg. My research interests and ongoing research projects include:
-development of supplemental means of oxygenation utilizing oxygenated perfluorocarbon perfusion of the abdominal cavity in a porcine model (and the development of minimally invasive means of carrying out these techniques)
-identification and treatment of persistent pulmonary injuries through minimally invasive techniques
-development of vaccine therapies for lung cancer (in murine models) utilizing photodynamic therapy
-use of rare earth phosphors as alternative means of photodynamic therapy for lung cancer
