| Course Description |
The Basic Cardiac Life Support Recertification course is designed to educate participants on the risk factors of heart disease and stroke. In addition, the participant will learn the indications and treatment procedures for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and airway obstruction. Instruction on use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED), rescue breathing on adults, children and infants is also included. This course is taught according to the standards of the American Heart Association. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification card valid for two years. Please bring a copy of your current BCLS Healthcare Provider card to the course. If your card is expired you are required to take a full certification course.

A textbook is required for this course. The title of the textbook is "BLS for Healthcare Providers", written by the American Heart Association. | Prerequisites |
Participants recertifying must bring a copy of their current card to get admitted to the course. Also, each student is required to have a current (2006) textbook, which is not included in the course fee.
