| Course Description |
The Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Course provides you with an understanding of how to teach the adult learner, the remediation process and proper testing procedures. The course is designed for you to teach the skills of CPR to a lay person or healthcare provider in a classroom setting. At the end of the course you should feel comfortable with demonstrating the core skills involved in CPR. When you teach a course your students should be able to achieve the objectives in CPR through psychomotor skills testing.
Textbook Requirements Participants will receive a Healthcare Provider Instructor manual and pocket mask prior to the course. |
| Prerequisites |
- Letter of recomendation from a current AHA BLS Instructor, or demonstrate skills and knowledge base for a JeffSTAT Faculty Instructor for prior approval.
- All participants must have a valid AHA Healthcare Provider course completion card to be presented on the first day of the course.

Refund Policy
Non-Jefferson Employees
- Course participants will be issued a partial refund only if they cancel within 24 hours prior to the course start time. $50 is non refundable.
- Any course participant who shows up more than 15 minutes late to the course will be denied entry and will not be issued a refund.
- Course participants who do not show up for the course will not be issued a refund.
Jefferson Employees All Jefferson employees are required to pay for the BLS Instructor course prior to attendance. If your unit is paying for the course please provide a letter for billing purposes. The letter should include your supervisor’s name, charge code and cost of the course. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. |
