Course Name Heartsaver First Aid w/CPR/AED
Course Description The Heartsaver First Aid course is specially designed for the Non-Healthcare Provider who might be the first to respond in the workplace or community, and can be tailored to address the needs of a specific workplace or group of employees. The First Aid Course provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel. Issues addressed will include poisoning, allergic reactions, physical injury, stroke, and more.

The Heartsaver AED/CPR component of course provides corporations with a complete health and safety training solution. This course is taught according to the standards of the American Heart Association. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a course completion card valid for two years.

Textbook Requirements
Textbooks are required for this course and are not included in the course fee. Textbooks can be ordered online at the Jefferson Bookstore by visiting www.jefferson.edu/bookstore , by calling 1-888-TJU-Book. The bookstore is located at 1009 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19107. Books may also be purchased through the Training Center. Call the  JeffSTAT EMS Education Center, Course Coordinator at 215-955-3969.

Prerequisites There is a lot of material to cover in a short time. You MUST read the texts prior to class. This will help you learn more during the course and make you more comfortable with the material. You must have your text to be admitted to class.

Refund Policy

Non-Jefferson Employees

  • Course participants will be issued a refund only if they cancel within 24 hours prior to the course start time.
  • Any course participant who shows up more than 15 minutes late to the course and is denied entry will not be issued a refund.
  • Course participants who do not show up for the course will not be issued a refund.

Jefferson Employees
If an employee who fails to attend the course (no-show) or does not cancel within 24 hours notice prior to the course start time or is denied entry into the course for being more than 15 minutes late, his/her department will be responsible for the tuition of the course fees. The department head will receive an IDC for the FULL amount of the tuition.
