Course Name Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (BLS Version, 8hrs)
Course Description

8 hours of Pennsylvania Con Ed are issues for this course.

Going out on a critical pediatric call is one if the most stressful parts of being an EMS provider. Even in a noncritical setting, assessing a pediatric patient presents unique challenges. With only 10% of calls involving children, and only one in 100 dealing with critical pediatric patients, do you have the skills to answer these questions in the first few seconds on-scene:

  • How sick is this child?
  • How quickly do I need to act?
  • What is this child’s physiological problem?

“PEPP2” represents a comprehensive source of prehospital medical information for the emergent care of infants and children. Developed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, PEPP2 is an exciting program designed specifically to teach prehospital professionals how to better assess and manage ill or injured children.

Current certification as an emergency medical technician.
