The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) provider course is designed to train healthcare professionals in managing patients with acute cardiac illnesses using the most current methods available. Information will be reviewed and practice time will be made available to enhance proficiency in the following modalities:
- Adjuncts for management of airway control and ventilation
- Dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac monitoring
- Synchronized cardioversion and defibrillation
- Pharmacology for cardiac care
- Management of acute MI and stroke
- Management of bradycardic and tachycardic patients
The full provider course runs for two consecutive eight-hour days. Pennsylvania certified pre-hospital providers will receive 16 hours of continuing education credits for the full provider course, or eight hours for the re-certification course. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification card valid for two years.
