This BLS Instructor Renewal Course provides the instructor an alternate method of renewing without the need to sit in a 8 hour renewal class. You will be required to facilitate a course from registration through written test and conclusion. The following is a portion of the critera which will be assessed by a Instructor Trainer.
- Organization
- Content Knowledge / Ability to respond to questions.
- Interactivity with students and ability to demonstrate skills.
- Time management.
- Profesionalism ( appropriate attire, terminology)
- Proper use of documentation.
- Equipment management ( universal precautions, video equipment, mannequin operation and cleaning.
You must provide the Instructor Trainer with copies of your current Instructor card and proof of at least 3 prior courses including dates and locations which were taught since your last renewal or initial monitoring to be handed in with your monitoring paperwork. The criteria for classes in which you will be monitored are:
- Must have at least 4 students.
- Must be a BLS HCP Initial Course.
- Must meet all AHA requirements for equipment and instructor ratio's.
