The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training course is designed to prepare participants to perform advanced life support procedures on pediatric patients. Participants will receive training in the specific skills and concepts revolving around pediatric patients such as airway management and ventilation, vascular access, pediatric fluid therapy and pharmacology, cardiac disturbances and resuscitation.
The provider course runs for two consecutive eight-hour days. Pennsylvania certified pre-hospital providers will receive 16 hours of continuing education credits for the full provider course, or eight hours for the re-certification course Participants will receive a two-year certification card upon successful completion.
