Important Note: Emergency medical technicians are prohibited from registering for PALS courses. If you register and attend the course, you will be denied entry and will be ineligible for a refund.

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) recertification course is for the health professional already holding a current PALS certification and in need of re-certification. Participants will receive a two-year certification card upon successful completion.

Textbook Requirements
A current version of the PALS Provider Manual is required for admission. Textbooks can be ordered online at the Jefferson Bookstore by visiting www.jefferson.edu/bookstore or by calling 1-888-TJU-Book. The bookstore is located at 1009 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19107.

Textbook Requirements for the Main Line can be purchased at address above or released from the library at Bryn Mawr Medical Library.

Non-Jefferson Employees

• Course participants will be issued a refund only if they cancel with at least 24 hours notice prior to the course start time. Cancellations must be emailed to Denise.Pettigrew@JeffersonHospital.org with copy going to thomasc@mlhs.org. Date stamp on email must be greater than 24 hours. 
• Any course participant who shows up more than 15 minutes late to the course and is denied entry will not be issued a refund.
• Course participants who do not show up for the course will not be issued a refund.

If an employee who fails to attend the course (no-show) or does not cancel within 24 hours notice prior to the course start time or is denied entry into the course for being more than 15 minutes late, his/her department will be responsible for the tuition of the course fees. The department head will receive an IDC for the FULL amount of the tuition.
